Synopsis:
Underground is a documentary film directed by Huang Ji, a junior student from Beijing Film Academy ( China ), majoring in literature. She started to shoot this documentary by herself from mid- August, 2004. After less than a year, a 75-minitue piece was finished in June 2005, which records the changed life of people in a small village in Hunan , China after the Mark Six was in there.
A group of people sitting before the television are watching the antennae babies and cooking programs. The atmosphere is no less than the strained final moment of Olympic Games. Audience are included an aged, a 7 year-old child, a bachelor with his purchased wife, a blind man who is living on telling fortunes, and an unlucky banker who is always collect litter notes money. They lower their voices, discussing the babies dress, or the number of slices of the cutting cucumber or how many bowls of water is added during the cooking.
