Synopsis: The White Tower —a documentary on the true story between the deaf in China . There are more than 20 million deaf people in China , that of Henan Province ranks No. 1 among provinces in China . Although Henan is situated in the Central Plains of China and boasts its past prosperity, its pace of progress during reform is painfully slow. A group of deaf people such as Jingming, Xiaoning, and Wong Rui live right here. Jing Ming and normal lady had two marriages. He happened to meet a deaf girl, Wong Rui who lived at Kaifeng . Wong Rui is lively, beautiful, and warm-hearted. Jing Ming fell in love with her immediately. They frequently exchange their thoughts and feelings via brief messages on the cell phone. However, Wong Rui was already engaged with Mr. Lin, a deaf man from Taiwan . On knowing the love between Jing Ming and Wong Rui, Wong Rui's mother decided to marry her daughter immediately with the Taiwan guy. However, friends were devising strategies for a happy marriage between Wong Rui and Jing Ming. Jing Ming was greatly encouraged to take up this opportunity. But no one could change his own fate. Jing Ming witnessed the marriage between Wong Rui and Mr. Lin from Taiwan . But to the contrary of her mother's will, Wong Rui could not make a good living with Mr. Lin and they divorced thereafter.
