Synopsis: A female photographer from Beijing rashly bursts into an old residence and finds that it contains a mystery which she cannot unravel. She comes face to face with Mr. Jiang, more than 60 years old and unmarried, who despite facing many difficulties will not relinquish his old, extravagant lifestyle of eating Western food, drinking wine and writing letters in English. But, because of the photographer's arrival, and the imminent demolition of the building, all this must change. But before the building is wrecked, the taciturn Mr. Jiang and the straight-talking photographer take part in a story both funny and helpless.
