Synopsis:

It is widely believed in the Bai ethnic group that so long as the beautiful Erhai Lake was formed, their assisters have begun to raise cormorants (a kind of poultry known as ‘Fish-Eagle' in Chinese) to help people catch fish. Originally a wild animal, cormorants are now raised and trained by the local fishermen generation after generation, and they have become both loved pets and an important mean of making a living.

The documentary follows the life of a fisherman called Yang Liujin and unfolds to the audience how he raises and trains cormorants with his wife, Li Liumei. It also emphasizes on the important role of traditional culture in protecting the environment.
